Position Summary:
LidWorks is seeking a Tooling Technician to join our Engineering Team. This role is responsible for tooling installation and changeovers, maintenance, inventory control, and supporting both production and prototype activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review tool setup sheets and verify all required tooling components before installation.
- Evaluate die sets and production lines before installation and startup.
- Perform tooling installations and equipment adjustments across all production lines .
- Conduct line assessments, troubleshooting, and debugging before scheduled production startup.
- Adjust tooling according to specifications and complete installation sign-offs.
- Support production during post-changeover startups to ensure products meet quality standards.
- Complete Tool Change Acceptance documentation.
- Perform general tooling maintenance, inspections, and assembly setups.
- Maintain inventory of wear parts, hardware, and shop supplies.
- Provide off-shift tooling support and monitoring as needed.
- Collaborate with Engineering on tooling reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper operating conditions in the machine shop and tool room.
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma required.
- Trade school certification in Tool & Die or Machine Tool Technology preferred.
- Basic computer skills (email, Word, Excel) required.
- Experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc. required.
- Experience with T/F tooling is a plus.
- Machine shop experience is a plus.
